Peer Knowledge
Posting and blogging have become very popular over the past couple of years. With its popularity, it has gotten dangerous. The internet alone was dangerous for young/little kids but now these websites like MySpace, Facebook, and Crushspot.
A lot of teenagers go on these websites and make pages for themselves. Unfortunately the teenagers don’t realize how dangerous posting can be. Sometimes posting is harmless, other times it’s not. A lot of sex offenders also go on these websites to see these teenagers (or anybody). That’s the dangerous part, especially if there is personal information on that person’s page such as: name, age, and address.
There are almost thirty thousand sex offenders on MySpace alone. If it’s about thirty thousand sex offenders on MySpace alone imagine how many sex offenders do you think are on MySace, Facebook, and Crushpot put together?

Dear Ms. Winfrey,
I am writing this letter, to give you some insight on domestic violence. I know you have done many shows on the subject but, I am writing to you to give you additional information on this terrible and ongoing issue that affects people everyday.
Domestic violence is obviously a major issue which can conclude in death. It can result in physical attacks, sexual attacks, and/or emotional attacks. Even though you only hear about it in heterosexual couples, it can also happen in homosexual couples. An abuser, unfortunately, can even be a child.
At least one out of every three women will be abused sometime during her life. Around four thousand women die every year. The major cause of domestic violence that is inflicted on women is battery. Rape, muggings, and auto accidents are included. In about seventy-five percent of domestic homicides, victims were killed after the relationship ended.
Even though women are terribly abused, they still stay. Amazingly some of them still love their partner. There are other reasons why they stay in abusive relationships; fear, children, guilt, lack of self-esteem, economic dependence, and the lack of family togetherness.
Ms. Winfrey, I am hoping that this letter, will give you a better perspective on domestic violence so that you will let people know the effects, damages, and tragedies of this violence. I also want you to let women know that they can be helped.
Sincerely,
Chandler Babb

Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is a pattern of assaultive and forceful behavior. Domestic violence can be physical attacks, sexual attacks, and/or emotional attacks. These attacks can cause a person to be injured. Some injuries can even be deadly. The abuse can be received daily. The abuser tries to have power or control over their victim or victims. An abuser can be an adult or even a child. The abuser can be someone a person is dating or it could be someone they are married to. Domestic violence can happen in heterosexual couples or same sex couples. Domestic violence is usually inflicted by an intimate partner. Anybody of any race can witness this violence.
At least one out of every three women will be abused sometime during her life. Due to domestic violence, around four thousand women die every year. The major cause of domestic violence that is inflicted on women is battery. Rape, muggings, and auto accidents are included. In about seventy-five percent of domestic homicides, victims were killed after the relationship ended of when they attempted to leave the relationship. More than three women, on an average, are murdered by their husbands or partner in this country alone, everyday. Also, on an average, a woman would leave an abusive relationship at least seven times before she actually leaves forever. At least thirty percent of Americans claim that they have known a woman who has been physically abused or is being physically abused in the past year. About seventy-five percent of women are killed when they leave an abusive relationship or after they have left that abusive relationship.
Domestic violence can start as a child. At least seventy-three percent of abusers, who are males, were abused as children or witnessed some type abused.
There are a lot of signs that a person is an abuser. When a person’s partner objects them, is not willing to give them space (trapping or holding a person hostage), gets jealous easily, has a history of violence, gets hostile easily, threatens them or their pets, and abuses drugs are all signs of possible domestic violence.
Even though women are terribly abused, whether it is, physical abuse, sexual abuse, or emotional abuse, for some reason, they still stay. Amazingly some women still love their partner. There are other reasons why women stay in an abusive relationship. Women stay in abusive relationship because of fear, children (if they have any), guilt, lack of self-esteem, economic dependence, and they try not to breakup a home.
